Ampeg lovers fight Acoustic lovers to the death ;) I play new and old Ampeg amps all the time and the SVT-CL's sound almost identical to the vintage ones. The only difference is that the CL is a one-channel amp while the original had two.

I've got a little ampeg at home (b100r) ... it sounds wonderful for little gigs.. anyway, on saturday i had a gig with another band. the bass player lend me his rig consiting a vintage (around 1970) svt and 4x10+1x15 cabinets. Just from the first note i played through that monster i began drooling. I was in bass heaven... my jazz although it has an impressive sound, never sounded that way! Now i can't stop thinking about getting a rig like that if our band begins doing bigger gigs. I've been looking in ebay how many vintage svt are around, and it seems to be a very rare thing. so when the time comes, will a new ampeg CL yield the same/similar results to the old ones?
